January \ LxWxH: Family Meal
This is a very special, final edition of the LxWxH Curated Box Sets. Titled Family Meal, this edition symbolizes the importance of this project as a community effort, pointing to its original inspiration via CSA boxes; and the notion that meals are valuable times of intimate gathering. As this project has always been about connecting people, it ties together two worlds that are meaningful to the founder Sharon Arnold; and presents beautiful imagery, rituals, and philosophy by participating artists Jason Stratton, Kate Lebo, and Kate Ryan. Sharon Arnold will also contribute to this box for the first time, two of her most popular recipes on letterpress by artist Lynda Sherman. Your art comes in a beautifully hand-crafted box made by Steve Leroux!
Kate Ryan \ An Incantation for Culinary Magic ~ An edible spell with a ritual set: tiny candle, platter & copper cup burned and embossed with Joy & Gratitude.
Kate Lebo \ From a Tree will be a zine of erasures taken from Wikipedia entries for fruit, vegetables, and herbs. I'm writing the poems, book artist Dan Shafer is designing and printing the book. This dearly physical book of poems will be made of text from a virtual "tree of knowledge" that is, itself, a product of erasure--a taxonomy of stuff that's described, altered, and remade by countless Wikipedia authors. And now, remade again by us.
Jason Stratton \ Devotional object in preparation of the collapse. (Rue McClanahan) with faux pearls, beaded silk jacket, un bleached wool, raw pasta, ink, bee pollen, gold leaf, Guinea hen feathers, almond oil, saffron, sea salt, cotton thread.
Sharon Arnold \ Two lovingly printed pastry recipes in letterpress from her personal kitchen grimoire, in collaboration with Bremelo Press founder Lynda Sherman.
